Debra Johnson

Debra Johnson is Executive Director of Prairie Harvest Human Services Foundation in Grand Forks, ND, an agency that provides community-based services, housing and employment for individuals with serious mental illness.

Her interest in mental health services stems from being a family member of an adult with serious mental illness as well as through her work with Prairie Harvest Foundation. Advocacy efforts have included working with local, state and federal officials to improve mental health services, employment and housing choices for consumers.

Johnson has been a member of the ND Mental Health Planning Council since1998 and served as Chair for 2 years. She remains an active member representing family members of adults with serious mental illness.

Advocacy interests have led Debra to serve for 6 years as a Mental Health Block Grant Reviewer and 2 years as Chair of the Southwest Review panel for the Center for Mental Health Services. Johnson is the current Chair of NAMHPAC and provides trainings in that capacity for planning councils around the country.
