Ted J. Johnson

Ted J. Johnson retired from the West Virginia public mental health system in 2002. He served in various positions, concluding with the Assistant Director of the Office of Behavioral Health Services. Mr. Johnson is a consultant to the West Virginia Mental Health Consumers' Association and other mental health organizations.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the the West Virginia Mental Health Planning Council, and the board of directors of the National Association of Mental Health Planning and Advisory Councils (NAMHPAC), and West Virginia Advocates. Mr. Johnson also serves on a task force of the West Virginia Commission on Behavioral Health.

Mr. Johnson served as the Mental Health Planner for the State of West Virginia, has been a reviewer for regional peer consultative reviews for the Mental Health Block Grant, and in 2006 served as a writer for regional reviews. He has served as trainer for several NAMHPAC-sponsored events and annually co-presents a seminar on mental health and the law in West Virginia. He facilitated planning for and wrote the Suicide Prevention Plan for West Virginia.
