about us In depth help with any planning council issue--whether about operations or mental health issues in your state--is available through NAMHPAC.

Written Self-Assessment Tool for PACs
Download and print out this survey form and use it to inventory your group’s activities, operations, and interests. This can be done individually or as an entire council. For further feedback, fax the completed surveys to NAMHPAC and get feedback from a PAC member in another state. NAMHPAC’s peer trainers will contact you for council-to-council consultation within a few days. Specify whether you prefer to be contacted by phone or e-mail. Plan a retreat or training for your PAC
Through the support of the Center for Mental Health Services, NAMHPAC can help you plan a training or retreat for your group. All requests for this type of on-site technical assistance must be in writing from the council’s current chairperson. These are typically 1-2 day events using national staff and experienced planning council members from other states.

Onsite consultation is tailored to specific needs but may include:

  • Orientation to the federal mandates for PACs;
  • Issues such as cultural competency, improving monitoring, managed care, recruiting key members to the PAC, building relationships with the mental health administrations, effective bylaws, increasing autonomy and credibility.
  • Facilitated action planning.
