Does your state planning council have representation from business owners or other individuals who make employment decisions at their work place? Specifically is there representation of those who employ individuals with psychiatric disabilities?
Has this membership issue been discussed at any planning council meeting or any adult/employment subcommittee meeting?
How could planning councils reach out to employers to involve them in this discussion of employment or in planning council issues in general?
In exploring ideas and issues related to the employment of individuals with psychiatric disabilities, we may gain a better understanding of how to assist an individual with a mental illness obtain competitive employment by involving employers in the discussion.
